Pakistan continue to support UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan

Islamabad, July 5 PPI: Pakistan's Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani says his government will continue to support United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan to expedite reconstruction of war ravaged country.

Talking to visiting Special Representative of UN Secretary General on UN Assistance
Mission in Afghanistan, Kai Eide, he said being an immediate neighbor of
Afghanistan, Pakistan has vital interest and direct stake in the stability and peace
in Afghanistan.

Gilani said government will not negotiate with militants and allow no one to use
Pakistan's soil against another country.

Kai Eide said he is conscious of limits of military options and agreed on need to
improve overall socio-economic conditions to effectively deal with threat of
terrorism.
