Kuwait calls for boosting ties with Iran

Kuwait City, April 6, IRNA -- The Advisor to Kuwaiti prime minister said on Monday that Kuwait is serious in expansion of mutual ties with Iran.
Ismail Khudhr Al-Shatti made the remarks before departing for Tehran in Kuwait City.
He described the two countries' ties as developing, expressing hope that his visit to Tehran could be beneficial to two sides.
Referring to the two countries' age-old historical relations, the advisor to Kuwaiti prime minister expressed hope that bilateral ties could further expand in all arenas in the near future.
The Kuwaiti official heading a 17-member economic delegation departed for Tehran on Monday afternoon.
Al-Shatti’s visit aims to follow up the agreements already reached on expansion of mutual ties.
Upon his arrival, Kuwaiti official is going to confer with Ali Agha-Mohammadi, deputy of first vice-president in charge of supervision and coordination of economic policy.
Several agreements for fostering of mutual ties were reached during the visit of Kuwait's Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser al-Mohammad al-Sabah to Tehran late November 2009./end
