Supreme Leader urges coordination of three branches of government

Tehran, April 6, IRNA -- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Monday emphasized the need for coordination of three branches of government on major policymaking.
According to Institute for Compilation and Publication of Ayatollah Khamenei’s Works, a group of senior officials met with the Supreme Leader on Monday and performed their noon and afternoon prayers in a congregation led by Supreme Leader.
The first deputies of the president, Majlis speaker and the Judiciary, the secretary of the Expediency Council, secretary of Supreme National Security Council, secretary of High Council of Cultural Revolution, secretary and legal experts of the Guardian Council, members of the Judiciary Council, cabinet ministers and heads of parliamentary commissions were present in the meeting.
The meeting focuses to get guidelines from the Supreme Leader on how to resolve a dispute between the government and Majlis on implementing a major plan on overhaul of the subsidies.
The government requested an extra fund from Majlis for implementing the plan, but, Majlis has not accepted to earmark extra fund so far.
Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Monday in reply to a letter from President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that Majlis is ready to hear expert views from the government to justify the request./end
