Arab Physicians Union demands training for Palestinian doctors
Tunis, July 05, SPA -- Tunis-based Arab Physicians Union has demanded Saudi, Egyptian and Jordanian medical authorities to provide training for Palestinian doctors to help fill the shortage in number of skilled Palestinian doctors to meet the demand of some 1.5 million people in Gaza Strip.
In a report last night, the Tunisia African News Agency and Algerian
News Agency said the Union requested its Secretary General at a
meeting In Tunis to address the Saudi, Egyptian and Jordanian medical
authorities to accept Palestinian doctors seeking high-level training
for treating the sick and the injured in Palestinian territories.
The shortage is dramatic, the Union's spokesman said, citing that
Gaza's population have only one specialist in blood vessels surgery.
