Iranian firms to attend Syrian oil, gas fair

Damascus, April 5, IRNA – Iranian companies ‘Sadid Jeihan’ and ‘Nasr-e Mobtakeran’ will take part in the 7th International Oil and Gas Exhibition which is to open in Syria, Monday.
Some 265 companies from 41 countries are participating at the four-day event.
Syrian Prime Minister Muhammad Naji Atri and Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Sofian al-Alaw will attend the inaugural ceremony.
Some 50 practical workshops and conferences will also be organized on the sidelines of the event.
Iranian Embassy official in charge of economic affairs, Abdolreza Ghasemian called for extensive participation of the Iranian companies at the Syrian exhibitions, especially the tomorrow event.
Referring to the current cooperation between the two countries in the field of oil and gas, Ghasemian said that Syrian experts will undergo education in Iran.
Given Iran’s high capabilities in upstream oil and gas industries, exploring oil fields in Syria is another area of cooperation, he noted.
Iranian companies should actively take part at exhibits to help Syrian firms further get acquainted with the Iran's industrial capability, Ghasemian said.
Based on official reports, Syria has 285 billion cubic meters of gas reserves./end
