Shajarian kicks off spring tour with London concert
London, April 4, IRNA—World-renowned Iranian vocalist, Mohammad Reza Shajarian, kicked off his spring tour in London’s Barbican centre on Saturday.
Around 2,000 enthusiasts attended Master Shajarian’s Persian traditional music concert directed by distinguished Iranian composer and Tar player Majid Derakhshani in Europe's largest multi-arts and conference venue in central London.
Eighteen members of Shahnaz Ensemble also accompany Shajarian in his two-month tour.
He will continue his spring tour at the end of April to Australia where he is scheduled to perform in Perth (30 April), Melburn (1 May), Brisbane (9 May) and Sydney (16 May).
Maestro Shajarian and his group will then give concerts across the United States including in Chicago, Washington, Atlanta, Berkley, Seattle, Los Angeles and Huston.
On 4 June, Shajarian and his team will travel to Canada to perform in Vancouver and Toronto on 4 and 6 June, respectively./end
