Chinese diplomat hails Jalili’s visit to Beijing

Beijing, April 4, IRNA – A senior official with the Chinese Foreign Ministry said Sunday that the visit to China of Iran’s top security official was a “precious chance” to promote bilateral cooperation.
Head of the Department of Asian and West African Affairs of China’s Foreign Ministry Song Aiguo told IRNA that visit of Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili to Beijing has helped further bilateral consultations over major bilateral and international developments.
The Chinese diplomat made the remarks on the sidelines of seeing off Jalili in Beijing’s International Airport.
Jalili had arrived in the Chinese capital on April 1st at the invitation of Chinese government.
While in China, he held talks with senior Chinese officials on issues of mutual interest, including expansion of strategic cooperation between Iran and China on bilateral, regional and international levels.
Beside meeting his Chinese counterpart, Jaili also met with Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi./end
