President opens biggest iron ore pellet factory in Middle East
Sirjan, Kerman Prov, April 3, IRNA – Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad inaugurated the biggest iron ore pellet factory in the Middle East in this southeastern city Saturday morning.
The iron ore pellet manufacturing factory named “Gol Gohar” has the annual production capacity of five million tons. The factory is capable of producing 2 to 2.5 million tons of steel in a year.
Some rls. 2,900 billion has been spent on completion of the project.
Sirjan’s project of supplying iron ore pellet for steel mills is a giant step towards fulfilling developmental objectives in the country.
“Gol Gohar” is located 60 kms from the city of Sirjan in the southeastern province of Kerman./end
