President Ahmadinejad arrives in Kerman province
Sirjan, April 3, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in the city of Sirjan in the southeastern province of Kerman Saturday morning to open the iron ore pellet manufacturing factory which is the largest in the Middle East region.
Upon arrival, President Ahmadinejad was welcomed by Provincial Governor Habibollah Dahmardeh and a number of local officials.
The iron ore pellet manufacturing factory named “Gol Gohar” has the annual capacity of five million tons of production; meanwhile, the factory would be able to produce 2 to 2.5 million tons of steel in a year.
Sirjan’s project of supplying iron ore pellet for steel mills is a giant step towards fulfilling developmental objectives in the country.
“Gol Gohar” is located 60 kms from the city of Sirjan in the southeastern province of Kerman./end
