US to prove transparency about proposing sanctions on Iran

Islamabad, March 30, IRNA – Pakistani analyst on Monday opined that US has to prove transparency in its ideas about asking to impose sanction on Iranian nuclear program.
It is pertinent to mention here that Iran has rejected the Western overtures about imposing any sanctions over its nuclear program.
Talking to IRNA, Pakistani analyst Talat Masood said that US has to prove transparency in its ideas about asking to impose new sanction.
It would not be out of place to mention here that US Defense Secretary Robert Gates has reportedly said that Iran has rejected Western overtures and the international community has no choice but to move toward imposing new sanctions over its nuclear program
“The only way that is left to us at this point, it seems to me, is that pressure track but it will require all of the international community to work together," Gates said at a joint news conference with French Defense Minister Herve Morin, a couple of days before.
Responding a question, Retired Army General Talat Masood was of the view that before adopting any steps, in this regards, transparency is imperative. The matter should be deliberated on rational basis.
It may be mentioned here that Iran being the signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) can use nuclear energy for peaceful means, however, the US and West have allegedly been suspecting on Iran’s nuclear program saying that Iran is trying to build an atomic bomb, which Iran has strongly denied repeatedly.
Iran says its program to enrich uranium is aimed at producing electricity, and it has refused to halt the process.
As, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has already warned the United States not to impose sanctions in reaction to the Islamic country's nuclear ambitions.
"It's high time for some people to open their eyes and adapt themselves to real changes that are under way," Ahmadinejad said at a news conference in Tehran.
It is pertinent to mention here that the United Nations Security Council has already imposed three rounds of sanctions against Iran. In addition, several Western nations have warned that
Another Pakistani analyst has already opined that the idea of imposing sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program is totally ridiculous. “It is purely a political tool which has no legality,” said Dr Shireen M. Mazari Director General of the Institute of Strategic Studies, a research think-tank based in Islamabad, Pakistan./end
