"GOBI WOLF-2" EXERCISES TO BE RUN
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Gobi Wolf-2, a disaster response exercises will be held from March 30 through April 9 in National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). The exercises, which are to run in three main phases, are dedicated to ways oeliminating accidents in the mining sector.
Deputy Premier of Mongolia M.Enkhbold talked about it at a meeting Monday with Ambassador Extraordinary&Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Mongolia, Jonathan Addleton.
The exercises “Rescue operation in sudden accident of mining" will be jointly organized by the NEMA, Military Attaché Division of the U.S. Embassy to Mongolia and the Center for Excellence in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance (COE), a direct reporting unit to the U.S. military's Pacific Command (USPACOM) in Hawaii.
In 2009, Gobi Wolf-1 exercises, which included a train derailment scenario on a major railway artery in Mongolia, required multiple levels of response and was aimed at supporting Mongolia's disaster management planning.
Next year, the exercises have been planned in earthquake management.
