KONRAD ADENAUR RESIDENT REP AWARDED NORTH STAR

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The Resident Representative of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Mongolia, Thomas Schrappel, (Ph.D) has been awarded with the order of "North Star" in recognition of his contribution to developing relations and cooperation between Mongolia and Germany. Thomas Schrappel completed his office term in Mongolia after six consecutive years and is going to return home.
After the award ceremony, which took place Monday, the President Tsakhia Elbegdorj said the Konrad Adenauer Foundation has played a vital role in strengthening democracy in Mongolia, improving the democratic governance and increasing public participation in political education. He expressed his gratitude for great efforts the Foundation is making to develop local self-governance and improve election system.
Mr Schrappel said Mongolia is an exemplary country in Asia in term of its succesful realization of the democratic system. "Our Foundation will work fruifully and effectively for improving democratic system in Mongolia," he added.
