Severe storm warning for northeast Vic

Residents in Victoria's northeast are being urged to secure any loose objects on
their properties as strong winds hit the area.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe storm warning for towns including
Yarrawonga, Wodonga, Wangaratta, Corryong and Bright.
Forecaster Geoff Feren said a wind gust of 70km/h was recorded at Yarrawonga shortly
before 4pm (AEDT) and wind gusts of up to 90km/h were a possibility into Sunday
night.
But there was not a great deal of rain expected in the area, he said, adding: "I
think they (the winds) will die out this evening".
The State Emergency Service advised people in affected areas to secure loose
objects, keep away from power lines and switch off computers and electrical
appliances.
