Thai Prime Minister Abhisit makes official visit to Brunei

BANGKOK, March 29 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minsiter Abhisit Vejjajiva left Bangkok Monday morning for a one-day official visit to Brunei to strengthen bilateral relations between the two nations, both members of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The visit marks the readiness of Thailand to cooperate wth Brunei as a partner in economic and development in various aspects.

After arrivingl at Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei, Mr Abhisit will make a courtesy call to Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah at the Istana Nurul Iman palace, the official residence of the Sultan of Brunei, before holding talks with a full contingent of officials.

The talks will cover a wide range of cooperation between the two nations and their bilateral cooperation under the ASEAN framework.

In the afternoon, a memorandum of understanding relating to public health will be signed.

Mr Abhisit was scheduled to brief Team Thailand, be interviewed by the media, and visit the Rimba National Housing Project before returning to Bangkok. (TNA)
