Victoria braces for wild weather

Victorians still recovering from a destructive hailstorm earlier this month are
being urged to prepare for another bout of wild weather.
Severe weather warnings have been issued for Sunday, with strong wind gusts of up to
90km/h forecast for the Western, Wimmera and Central regions.
The State Emergency Service (SES) is warning residents in those areas to be cautious
of loose debris following damage caused by a severe hailstorm on March 6.
Residents across Melbourne whose homes were damaged from that hailstorm should check
temporary repairs on their properties ahead of the predicted winds, the SES said,
adding that loose items should be secured and people should not park or shelter
under trees.
The Bureau of Meteorology has predicted wind gusts with an average of 40 to 50km/h
with gusts up to 90km/h.
A low pressure system and cold front is forecast to approach the west of the state
on Sunday and move across Victoria.
Melbourne is expecting a top temperature of 31 degrees on Sunday with northeasterly
winds averaging up to 20 km/h before stronger northerlies increasing to 40 to 50
km/h later in the afternoon and rain developing.
If anyone needs assistance from the SES they can ring 132 500.
