Dhaka-Riyadh bilateral relations to reach a new height: President
Dhaka, Bangladesh, July 4(BSS) -The newly appointed Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Bangladesh Dr Abdullah Bin Naser Al Busairi presented his credential to President Professor Dr Iajuddin Ahmed at Bangabhaban today.
During the meeting the President expressed his happiness at
the present brotherly bilateral relations between Bangladesh and
Saudi Arabia and said Dhaka attaches great importance to her
relations with Riyadh.
He also said there is ample potential of cooperation between
the two countries which remains to be explored to further
strengthen the existing ties.
The President expressed confidence that the existing
bilateral relations between two brotherly countries will reach a
new height during the envoy's tenure in Bangladesh.
The President also expressed his gratitude for employing and
hosting around 1.7 million Bangladeshi workers who are
contributing to the economic development of both Bangladesh and
Saudi Arabia.
Prof. Iajuddin said Bangladesh is ready to provide more
skilled and unskilled manpower to Saudi Arabia to meet the Saudi
labour market demand.
He also expressed his satisfaction at the present trade and
economic relations between the two counties.
In this regard, President Iajuddin said Saudi Arabia could
import Pharmaceutical goods and medicine and explore the
possibility of joint venture investment in boosting Bangladesh's
readymade garments sectors that would also benefit the Saudi
investors.
Professor Iajuddin also expressed his gratitude to King
Abdullah and the government of Saudi Arabia for the magnanimous
assistance and generous support to the affected of Bangladesh
during natural calamities.
Dr. Abdullah Bin Naser Al Busairi sought President's
cooperation in discharging his duties in Bangladesh. He also
expressed strong hope that the relations between Dhaka and Riyadh
would be further cemented in the days to come.
The new Ambassador, who worked as a diplomat at the Saudi
Embassy in Dhaka in 1988, remembered the people of Bangladesh for
their hospitality, generosity and courage. He also saw huge
potential of Bangladesh and expressed the hope that the country
would achieve its aspired development soon.
Secretary of the President's office Md Sirajul Islam, Foreign
Secretary Touhid Hossain, Military Secretary to the President
Major General Mohammad Ruhul Amin and the President's Press
Secretary Abdul Awal Howlader were present.
