Brumbies skipper doubted Huxley's return

Brumbies captain Stephen Hoiles admits he doubted whether Julian Huxley would ever
make it back onto the rugby field.
Hoiles says the Brumbies' squad has got a "huge buzz" out of Huxley's fightback from
a brain tumour two years ago to return to the team for Friday night's Super 14 clash
with the Chiefs at Canberra Stadium.
"A lot of people thought he was mad and I actually was probably one of those that
doubted that he'd get back," Hoiles said on Thursday.
"But he's just shown an enormous amount of persistence and determination to come
back, not just physically, but also the legality of it all.
"I think the squad's got a huge buzz out that."
It was only three weeks ago that former Wallabies utility back Huxley finally
received the necessary clearances to play after negotiating numerous legal and
medical obstacles in his bid to return to the field.
With just two matches for the Brumbies reserve side under his belt, the 30-year-old
will start on the bench against the Chiefs, hoping to take the field for his 54th
Super rugby appearance.
