PRESIDENT IN BAYAN-ULGII PROVINCE

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ President Tsakhia Elbegdorj is making a working tour through Bayan-Ulgii province visiting soums of Ulgii, Buyant and Sagsai to get au fait with the living conditions of local inhabitants. Mr Elbergdorj held meetings with the locals and briefed on socio-economic situation of the country.
"We intend to develop not only agricultural sector, but also other economic fields with drawing up a development strategic plan", emphasized a Head of the Administration of Sagsai soum, K. Bolat while talking about works being done in the region.
"Considerable positive results have been observed thanks to this policy, and the local population's livelihood has improved. About 285 households planted potatoes and other vegetables to provide their needs. Some part of the harvest was traded to other regions. It has been planned to plant crops and veg on 1,000 hectares next year," Bolat said.
An eagle festival is organized every year in Sagsai soum to attract foreign tourists. "Last year, over 180 tourists from 17 countries arrived to see the Festival of Eagle, a pride of Kazakh people," Bolat added.
