TS.ELBEGDORJ ATTENDS INAUGURATION OF NOWRUZ
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ State Head Ts.Elbegdorj attended Monday an opening of the Nowruz and congratulated the Kazakh people on the national celebration.
"Nowruz is the biggest celebration for the Kazakh people to retain their cultural heritage and custom and to respect elders. The Kazakh consider that the Nowruz brings a prosperity and well-being. Let the State Emblem, Mountains of Altai and blue sky bless you," said Elbegdorj at the inauguration. A head of the Citizens' Representative Khural Kh.Bayan and a head of Bayan-Olgii aimag's administrative Office B.Zarkhum mentioned that state dignitaries visit the aimag every year to take part in the celebration and to pay respects to Kazakhs, and expressed their satisfaction with marking the Nowruz with the President.
The celebration began after praying to the sky and to ancestors "Kydyr ata bata ogne". After this a ceremonial parade, showing a history of the Khazakhs, was shown with a participation of all generations. Art performances and national games ran on the central square as well.
Since the Nowruz was officially registered in 2009 in the UNESCO List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the celebration is much more wider this year.
