Rebels hand over Yemeni captives
SAADA, March 18 (Saba) - The ceasefire committee
in Saada city has been handed 177 captives who were arrested by the Houthi group
during
the war that ended last month. The handover came within the implementation of the
ceasefire that was put into effect on February 11. Meanwhile, the ceasefire
committees are
continuing their jobs in Saada, Almalaheedh district, Harf Sufyan in Amran, and the
areas on the border with Saudi Arabia, meeting with the rebel representatives,
reopening
roads and coordinating for full implementation of the ceasefire deal. They are
assessing what has been achieved on the ceasefire, with subcommittees formed to pay
fields
visits to various areas to inspect progress and make sure that the rebels are
committed to the deal. Last month, the Yemeni government and the Houthi group
reached a ceasefire
deal ending a six-year war in the far north that included that the rebels: withdraw
from their positions, release all civilian and military captives, returning all
public
and army equipment that taken during confrontations and withdrawing from Saudi lands
and not attack them again. FR
