PROGRAM SUBMITTED TO SPEAKER ON EDUCATIONAL SECTOR ACTIVITY
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Minister of Education, Culture and Science Yo.Otgonbayar submitted Wednesday to parliament Speaker an educational sphere's activities program for overcoming financial and economic difficulties. This program has been initiated by the cabinet.
The Minister told the Speaker that the program is created in accordance with principles of ensuring the sustainable activity of the educational sphere in times of financial and economic crisis, tackling urgent problems and refining upon the structure and system under the list of draft laws and parliamentary decisions to be approved in priority.
The program that will be realized in 2010-2011 focuses on ensuring the non-stop normal educational services, keeping their quality and adequacy, providing low-income families' children with opportunities to study, rendering support to overcoming of the financial and economic crisis through continuing the educational reforms. Some 21 measures will be taken to solve urgent problems that emerged from the crisis in the primary, secondary, vocational and higher education sectors, and to make the educational structure and organization more effective and rational through concluding the financial and economic situation in the educational sphere.
Money of MNT 82.9 billion is for the program. Of this sum, 71.8 per cent will be allotted from the state budget, 14.5 per cent--from other resources of projects and programs to be implemented by the Asian Development Program.
