Kabul, March 18,IRNA – Afghan daily ‘Nakhost’ (The First) referring to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s March 10th visit of Kabul wrote this week his criticism against US in Kabul proved Iran’s regional strength to Washington.

“The president of Iran on the one hand poses the question how come the foreigners do not spend their cash contributions to Afghanistan through the central government, which was echoing a demand on behalf of the Kabul government, that is one of the many times repeated demands of the Afghan government, and on the other hand seriously criticized the US foreign policy in Kabul, that is surrendered by US military forces,” Nakhost added in its latest edition’s article.

“By doing so Ahmadinejad pursued two objectives: firstly, stressing Iran’s regional influence, and secondly, announcing Tehran’s sympathy with Kabul over a an ignored rational demand,” it added.

The daily further noted: “After President Ahmadinejad’s visit of Kabul the presidents of the United States and Afghanistan had a sixty-minute phone talks, which was apparently around the axis of the two countries’ strategic alliance.”
