LEGISLATOR ARRESTED BY ANTI-GRAFT COMMISSION
Jakarta, July 1 (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested a member of the House of Representatives (DPR) for allegedly receiving US$60,000 and 10,000 euros on Monday.
KPK deputy chief for prevention affairs Haryono confirmed the arrest when contacted.
Based on information obtained on Monday evening, the arrested DPR member has the initials BR, who was once active in the House's Commission V which deals with transportation.
He was arrested at Plaza Senayan shopping center after receiving US$60,000 and 10,000 euros.
The money was believed to be connected with the procurement of patrol boats of the directorate general for sea transportation of the Ministry of Transportation.
The KPK is still investigating the case and so far there is still no information on the source of the money.
