OSCE PA`S 17TH SESSION KICKS OFF IN ASTANA
Baku, 1 July, (AzerTAj)- The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly`s (PA) 17th summer session has started in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Azerbaijan`s parliamentary delegation led by Deputy Speaker Bahar Muradova attended the event.
Goran Lennmarker, OSCE PA`s Special Representative on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict told of the issues regarding peaceful settlement of the conflicts in CIS.
According to him, efforts to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh, Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Pridnestrovie conflicts must be continued.
“Some proposals were put forward for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict peacefully, and both countries should demonstrate political will to reach a peace agreement�, said Mr. Lennmarker.
President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev spoke of his country`s current economic situation, as well as oil projects. He stressed the Caspian Sea must be the sea of peace and stability.
Other speakers in the meeting told of the issues related to safeguarding peace and stability in the region. The meeting continues its work.
