SAARC experts meet on climate change begins tomorrow, ministerial July 3
DHAKA, Bangladesh, Juli 1 (BSS)-The two-day SAARC experts meeting on climate change begins here tomorrow followed by ministerial
session on July 3 to help prepare a common regional plan of
action for combating the adverse impacts climatic changes in
South Asia.
Chief Adviser's special assistant for environment Barrister
Raja Devasish Roy will open the expert meeting at 9 am tomorrow
at Sheraton Hotel here.
Chief Adviser Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed is scheduled to inaugurate
the ministerial meeting on July 3 where ministers of environment
of the SAARC member states will join, Barrister Devasish told BSS
adding that the regional grouping would discuss the adverse
impacts of the climate change and find out ways and means to face
the challenge of more frequent and intensive extreme events like
floods, cyclones and droughts in South Asia.
