Gangs of Oz Ibrahim episode pulled
The Seven Network has pulled a Gangs of Oz episode about Kings Cross identity John
Ibrahim due to legal reasons.
The episode was to air on March 24, but a Seven spokesman said court cases pending
against many members of the Ibrahim family meant the episode would not be screened.
"Due to the legal issues facing the Ibrahim family, the episode can't be aired in
NSW at this time," the spokesman told AAP.
"Once those issues are resolved, the episode will be played across the network."
It's understood the episode of the factual series, which examines true crime
stories, is based on the Ibrahim family.
John Ibrahim's brothers Fadi and Michael are facing charges of conspiracy to murder
37-year-old John Macris in September last year.
Prosecutors allege the motive for the conspiracy was retaliation over the attempted
murder of Fadi Ibrahim, who was shot five times as he sat in his car with his
girlfriend outside his northern Sydney home in June last year.
Fadi, who is currently on bail, is also facing separate speeding charges and others
related to the possession of prescribed restricted substances.
Their sister Maha Sayour is facing her own charges relating to the alleged discovery
of $3 million in cash in her roof.
