CHIEF OF STATE COMMITTEE FOR FAMILY MEETS ESTONIAN DELEGATION
Baku, July, (AzerTAj)Chairwoman of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Problems Hijran Huseynova met with Estonian delegation including children and their accompanying persons.
Huseynova told of the Commitee`s activity, noting a number of state programs had been implemented to develop children.
Huseynova said Armenian aggression resulted in mass-scale violation of human rights.
According to her, the government takes important measures to improve social
conditions of IDPs and refugees. She hailed the activity of Mehriban Aliyeva,
President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO goodwill ambassador, MP. Hijran Huseynova stressed the importance of the Solidarity in Diversity program
supported by the children`s organization Q-Club and European Union, saying the
project would play a key role in developing ties between Estonian and Azerbaijani
children, sharing national values.
Under the program, 13-18 year-old schoolchildren and 3 teachers will live with
Azerbaijani host families to learn about customs and culture of Azerbaijani people
and visit refugee settlements.
Azerbaijani children are also scheduled to make a return visit in 2009 with the same
purpose.
