New Colombian envoy submits credentials to Mottaki

Tehran, March 16, IRNA - The newly non-resident Colombian ambassador to Tehran submitted a copy of his credentials to Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki here on Monday.
According to the report of the Foreign Ministry's Media Department, Mottaki said during the past years proper steps have been taken for expansion of mutual ties in all fields.
Referring to the age-old mutual cooperation, Mottaki pointed to Iran’s capabilities in the field of economy, culture and industry.
He said the Islamic Republic of Iran has valuable experiences in combating narcotics, voicing Iran’s willingness to share its experience with the Colombian side in this respect.
The newly accredited ambassador of Colombia to Tehran, for his part, said the Islamic Republic of Iran plays a vital role across the Middle East.
The Colombian envoy said the aim of his mission in Iran is expansion of ties in all fields and deepening friendship between Iran and Colombia./end
