IEF TO PREPARE FREE CAMP FOR BLIND PEOPLE IN YEMEN



HODEIDAH, March 14 (Saba) - The International Eye Foundation (IEF)
is getting ready to establish 24th free eye camp to combat blindness
in Salakhana Hospital, Hodeidah governorate on March 30 - April 16.

In a statement to Saba, IEF General Manager Mohammed al-Basery said
the camp would be funded by Sobal Charitable Institution to conduct
800 surgeries to treat cataract, medical testing for 9,000 cases and
also distribute free treatments and glasses to 3,000 cases.

Al-Basery affirmed the preparations for establishing the camp have
been made in coordination with Public Health and Population office
and Salakhana Hospital in Hodeidah governorate, which would provide
services to many patients who can not afford the costs of surgical
operations.

The International Eye Foundation (IEF) is founded in 1961. It aims
to prevent blindness and restore vision in the developing world.
Over four decades, the foundation has helped millions of people in
more than 60 developing nations.
