Najjar: Iran-Algeria to boost economic ties

Tehran, March 14, IRNA – Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said here on Saturday that Iran-Algeria Joint Commission has been promoted to a high commission in a bid to increase bilateral ties.
In a meeting with the Algerian ambassador to Iran, Soufiane Mimouni, he referred to the ancient cultural, political and revolutionary commonalities between the two countries and said that geographical locations of the two states in the Persian Gulf and the Mediterranean Sea and determination of their leaders can serve as a base for developing bilateral relations.
“Iran has much experience in training police, confronting natural disasters as well as urban management and is ready to make them available to Algeria,” Interior Ministry’s website quoted his as saying.
He also voiced Iran’s preparedness to transfer experience on electronic government and security issues to Algeria.
Mimouni, for his part, referred to his country’s interest in developing bilateral ties in all fields and said that the two countries’ presidents pay more attention to the expansion of ties. This helps the two states implement all agreements.
“Iran and Algeria have excellent political ties and in the field of economy, we should try to promote ties to a desirable level,” he said./end
