HUNGARY'S PRESIDENT MEETS S.BATBOLD
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ President of the Republic of Hungary Laszló Sólyom received Wednesday S.Batbold, the Prime Minister of Mongolia. At the meeting, the President said he attaches a great importance to the official visit of the Mongolian Premier that is paid for the first time after Hungary had become a member of the European Union (EU). Then he emphasized that the bilateral cooperation has a big future.
The President also underlined that Hungary will have an opportunity to significantly contribute to the development of the EU-Mongolia cooperation when Hungary will take over the EU presidency during the first half of 2011. Mr Sólyom mentioned that he visited Mongolia when he worked as a president of the Constitutional Court for sharing legal experiences, and pointed out it is possible to develop cooperation in the sectors of climate, agriculture, geo-physics and geology.
In turn, the Premier emphasized that this meeting coincided with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Batbold told about aims of his trip to the European country to study experiences of Hungary which used to be a country of similar social system.
The Prime Minister underlined that keeping a frequency of bilateral high level political talks has a significant contribution to successfully carrying out the cooperation. He conveyed a greeting and an invitation from Mongolia's President Ts.Elbegdorj to the Hungary's State Head. In addition, Batbold proposed to study the history of Hungary's development and to develop collaboration in mining, ecology, education and other spheres.
