MEMORIAL COIN ISSUED TO MARK TARIM, CAPITAL OF ISLAMIC CULTURE



SANA'A, March 11(Saba)- The Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) has issued a commemorative coin to mark the City of Tarim ,the Capital of Islamic Culture 2010.

The coin has been identified with three basic colors, gold, silver, and bronze-coated glass and carrying in its front face the logo of Tarim, the Capital of Islamic Culture 1431 H and 2010 and in the back the building of CBY and the date of issuance.

At the coin inauguration ceremony, the Minister of Culture Mohamed Abu Bakr al-Maflahi noted the bank's initiative to perpetuate this memory, Tarim city as the Capital of Islamic Culture, by issuing this commemorative coin that would leave a good impression for those interested in this cultural and Islamic event.

He pointed out to what the selection of Tarim, the Capital of Islamic culture, represents as one of the Islamic World cities, which played a prominent role in spreading Islam in Southeast Asia, Africa and other parts of the world.

Al-Maflahi valued the bank's efforts and active participation in this cultural and Islamic event by issuing this currency which will commemorate the occasion as same as it immortalized other events through their currencies.

Such currencies allow citizens at home and abroad and amateurs of commemorative coins in different countries of the world to get them as well as displaying them in museums.
