Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Cabinet meeting held Wednesday decided to have the 2nd stage military field hospital at the Mongolian Armed Forces participate in the UN peacekeeping operations in Darfur, the Republic of Sudan, from the year 2010, pursuant to a request from the UN's department of peacekeeping operations.
Our military hospital will work located at a UN military base near Kabkabia settlement which is 170 km far northwest from El Fasher city in central Sudan. In addition, the hospital will take a basic responsibility to render second class medical service to approximately 5,000 people such as the UN military forces, civil policemen, observers, officers of international organizations, local workers and UN volunteers.
By the way, 126 medical doctors and experts--by duplicated number--took part in UN peacekeeping operations in Sierra-Leone, Iraq and Kosovo.
