Yemen requests Japan officially to resume Yen soft loans
SANA'A, March 08 (Saba) -
Yemen requested on Monday Japan officially to resume Yen soft loans to be used for
generating
new and renewable energy from solar and wind sources.
During his meeting with President of the Japan Agency for International Cooperation
(JICA) Sadako Ogata, Yemen's ambassador to Japan Marwan Abdullah Noman extended her
an
invitation to visit Yemen.
The two officials discussed several issues concerning JICA's aid to Yemen including
programs of training basic education instructors, loans and aid resources
management
and rehabilitation program for health sector.
The Yemeni ambassador valued JICA's efforts to support the Yemeni coastguard and
vocational education in addition to providing al-Wihda Hospital in Aden with energy
based
on solar He also appreciated Japan's participation in the London Conference last
February and welcoming Japanese participation in the imminent meeting on Yemen to be
held
in Germany.
