King hails IDB works on receipt of its Third Annual Report

Jeddah, June 28 (SPA) - Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King
Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has expressed his thanks and appreciation to
the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) on receiving the third annual
report of the IDB works and activities.
This came in a reply cable addressed to Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ali, the President of IDB.
In his cable, the King said "We thank you for your good feelings
about the Saudi government's support and care towards IDB. We affirm
our determination to support joint Islamic action for the benefit of
all Muslims. We ask Almighty Allah to grant success to all."
The President of the Islamic Development Bank had expressed in his letter to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, which was attached with a copy of the Bank's annual report for 1428 AH, the pride of the IDB for the continuing support and generous care the Bank gets from the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
In his Letter, the IDB President disclosed that the Bank's total
lending until last year (the fiscal year of 1427 AH) amounted to
$5.48 Billion, equivalent to approximately SR70.5 billion for the
benefits of member states and non-Member States. This brings the
cumulative total extended by the Bank until the end of 1428 AH, to
approximately $61.7 billion equivalent to about SR229.5 billion for
the benefits of (56) Member States, and for (72) Muslim communities
in Non-member States.
