Iran’s envoy to Italy meets arrested reporter’s family

Rome, March 7, IRNA – Iran’s Ambassador to Italy Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini met with the arrested reporter Hamid Ma’soumi nejad's family here on Saturday.
Italian Police arrested Ma’soumi nejad on Wednesday March 3, 2010 on wild accusations.
Hosseini, who was in Tehran, upon his arrival in Rome went to meet the reporter’s family.
The embassy also, by sending a note to the Italian Foreign Ministry, requested that Iran’s ambassador meet the arrested reporter.
Italian Police reported on Wednesday that seven persons had been arrested on charges of weapon smuggling; among them two Iranians.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mihman-Parast said that the arrest of Ma’soumi nejad indicates a new game with special aim and vague goals./end
