Iran’s FM arrives in Kenya

Nairobi, March 6, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister, Manouchehr Mottaki arrived in the capital city of Nairobi and was received by his Kenyan counterpart.

Mottaki, who is in the African country on an invitation extended by the Kenyan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Robert Ouko, is scheduled to hold talks with him as well as with the country's President Mwai Kibaki during the visit.

During the March 2009 visit of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, 13 letters of agreement were signed between the two countries, including support for reciprocal investments, customs cooperation, and provision of consular facilities.

After holding a Joint Political Committee between the Iranian and Kenyan deputy foreign ministers in Tehran on February 24th, 2010, the Iranian technical and engineering firms began activities in dam and power station construction activities in Kenya./end
