Majority of world backs Iran's nuclear stand: German daily

Berlin, March 6, IRNA -- Contrary to western claims, the majority of the international community supports Iran's nuclear stand, the Berlin-based daily junge welt newspaper wrote in an editorial on Friday.
It pointed out that some 118 members states of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM)had backed Iran's stance in a statement, rejecting the confrontational approach of the West over Tehran's nuclear program.
The NAM declaration highlights the fact that "western governments are lying" when they allege that Iran is isolated internationally because of its nuclear program, the paper said.
It went on to say that the NAM communique opposed the western sanction policy vis-a-vis Iran by stressing the need for dialogue and diplomacy as the only way to achieve a lasting solution to the Iranian nuclear dispute.
The daily emphasized also that many influential countries in the world like Brazil and Turkey have sided with Iran despite US and European pressure tactics./end
