Government efforts for releasing Yemeni Guantanamo prisoners continue
SANA'A, June 28 (Saba)- Informed sources affirmed that Yemeni government represented by foreign ministry is continuing efforts for releasing Yemeni prisoners in Guantanamo Bay in coordination with American authorities.
Sources made it clear to 26 September news paper that the forthcoming period would
witness positive dynamic wither in giving prisoners' rights to introduce claims to
federal courts or US Administration's respond to calls of prisoners' countries,
among of which Yemen, to release them.
Earlier, Yemen's ambassador to Washington Abdulwahab al-Hajri discussed with Yemeni
prisoners' advocates latest developments and issues concerning their file in
Guantanamo Bay, noting that the government has presented to US embassy a complete
program on requalifying prisoners.
Worth to mention that there are 90 prisoners in the Bay.
