Yemen, IMF discuss cooperation directions

SANA'A, March 03 (Saba) - Yemen and the
International Monetary Fund (IMF) discussed here on Wednesday issues relating to the
directions
of cooperation between Yemen and the Fund in 2010.
This came during a meeting gathered here the Minister of Planning and International
Cooperation Abdul Karim al-Arhabi and the IMF's mission led by Hassan al-Atrash .
In the meeting ,al-Arhabi affirmed the Yemeni government's keenness to continue to
implement reforms aiming at developing the performance and efficiency of the
financial
administration in Yemen.
He pointed out that that it is important that the IFM plays a more effective role
in supporting the Yemen government to address the budget deficit.
The IMF's mission noted to the economic reforms has been carried out in Yemen
during the past years, which contributed to control the rates of inflation and
budget deficit
despite the declining of oil prices and production and the effects of the global
financial crisis.
