Asian youth Boxing Championship to commence in Tehran

TEHRAN, March 3 (MNA) -- The 19th Asian Youth Boxing Championship will start in Tehran’s Shahid Shiroudi Complex on Wednesday.
The event will bring together a total of 140 boxers from 20 countries in Iran’s capital.
“The competitions will be held in the highest level and top Asian boxers will compete in the prestigious event,” Ahmad Nateq-Nouri, head of the Iranian Boxing Federation, said in a news conference ahead of the competitions.
“Iran has a difficult job to get medals in the tournament because our rivals have come here to go to the podium, but we will do our best to take hold of the medals,” he added.
The winners of the championship will qualify to compete in the World Championships which will be held in Azerbaijan in April this year.
