AMBI-JAKARTA FLIGHTS NOW 10 TIMES A DAY
Jambi, June 27 (ANTARA) - Flights over the Jambi-Jakarta route vice-versa have been increased from 6 to 10 times a day as the number of people flying between the two points has increased significantly, Head of Jambi's Sultan Taha airport Basuki Mardianto said here on Thursday.
"Coinciding with the long school holiday and on the occasion of National Family Day celebrations as well as the Gotong Royong (mutual help) Service Month centered in Jambi province, the number of air passengers had been increasing significantgly," he said.
Since the government put an end to the operations of Adam Air, the number of Jambi-Jakarta flights from both points reached only six times a day by Batavia Air, Lion Air, and Sriwijaya Air with twice a day each.
In view of the significant increase in the number of passengers, Batavia Air and Lion Air had increased their flights from both points from two to three times a day.
A newcomer, Kartika Airlines, which had been serving the Jambi-Batam route, is now also plying the Jambi-Jakarta route.
