Turkey investments in E. Azarbaijan

Tabriz, East Azarbaijan prov, March 3, IRNA – Turkey has invested in East Azarbaijan province more than in other countries, said the Turkish consul general in Tabriz.

Addressing a Seminar on Iran-Turkey Investment Opportunities held in Tabriz, Bilgin Atalai added that his country has invested in 38 economic projects in the province, eight of which are devoted to Aras Free Trade Zone.

Referring to the high level of political and cultural ties between the two countries, he noted that diplomatic shuttles in different fields indicates the two sides’ interest in further developing relations.

Putting the current value of Iran-Turkey trade at $10 billion, he pointed out that the two countries' leaders are seeking to raise the figure to $20 billion.

Commenting on the investment capacities of the province, he said 14-year tax holiday for foreign investors, tax discount by 45 percent and supply of cheap fuel are among the advantages of investment in the province./end
