Mehrabian terms D8 summit successful

Tehran, March 3, IRNA – Minister of Industries and Mines Ali Akbar Mehrabian said here on Tuesday that the First D8 Industrial Ministers Summit was held successfully and the statement of the event was overwhelmingly approved.
According to a report by the News Headquarters of the summit, he added that the statement serves as a roadmap for economic and industrial cooperation among the member states.
“Today, all member states have a strong will for developing ties in various fields and they stressed the need to promote relationships among them,” he said.
They also agreed to organize the event every year and Turkey was declared the host of the summit next year, he noted.
He further hoped that Tehran summit will serve as a starting point for developing member states.
The statement stresses the need for exchange of views, pursuing roadmap for expansion of strategic cooperation and improving capabilities of the member states.
