Larijani: Iran’s diplomacy based on Islamic principles

Tehran, March 3, IRNA -- Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Tuesday that Iran’s political stand and diplomacy are based on Islamic principles.
Larijani made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian diplomats and cultural attaches aboard.
He said that Islamic Iran cut the hands of global arrogance led by the US who sought to dominate the entire region under theory of unilateralism. Iran prevented formation of an international dictatorship system, he said.
"Iran’s diplomacy is different from that of the world as it has been inspired by Islam and Islamic principles. Iran under no circumstances pursues double-standard diplomacy."
He said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is keen on friendly ties with its neighbors and Islamic countries in particular.
Referring to U.S. adventurism consistent with Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, he said the US double-standard policy has destroyed the image of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
On the issue of Palestine, he said that support for the oppressed Palestinians is an Islamic obligation and Iran is to support the Palestinians resistance to Israeli occupation.
Parliaments play vital role at international scene, he said adding that nations’ representatives could play a leading role to this effect.
Highlighting the significant role of ambassadors abroad, he said that it is vital to make use of the progress other nations have made to lead to prosperity./end
