Iranian artist elaborates on painting workshop in India
TEHRAN, March 2 (MNA) -- Iran-based artist Gizella Varga Sinaii gave details of her participation in a painting workshop held in India in January.
“I was invited to Mumbai to take part in a workshop named ‘Protect Wildlife Heritage’. The program was arranged by the TellusArt organization, a non-governmental organization headquartered in Sweden,” she told MNA.
The organization is committed to provide a global stage where outstanding contemporary artists from all over the world work through exhibitions, workshops and projects related to art.
“The organization got to know me and my works through my website and afterwards I was invited to the program. Almost 60 artists from different countries were also invited to the workshop. Babak Etminani and I were invited from Iran,” she said.
“I visited several cities during my stay and worked with children at schools and cultural centers. One of the interesting experiences we had was working with several street children. When they found out we were to work with them they were extremely delighted. We could easily sense their pleasure,” she explained.
She later expressed her opinion about the visual arts in India and said, “They have good artists who make a living by selling their artwork, and this suggests that the situation is good for artists in a country.”
On the difference between Iranian and Indian paintings, she declared, “their art and paintings are similar to Iranian works, but they use deeper and more intense colors.”
She went on to say, “Indian artists were quite familiar with our art and culture. They highly respected Persian art, culture and literature.”
Gizella, wife of leading Iranian filmmaker Khosro Sinaii was born in 1944, Chakvar, Hungary. She is a graduate of art from Vienna and is a member of Iranian female Dena Painting Group.
So far she has held several solo and group exhibits in Iran and several other countries.
