Kyrgyz news agency says Iran received no assistance in arrest of Rigi
TEHRAN, March 2 (MNA) – Kyrgyzstan’s Akipress news agency has said that Iran received no assistance in the arrest of Jundullah terrorist group leader Abdolmalek Rigi.
On February 23, Rigi was on a flight from the United Arab Emirates to Kyrgyzstan, but Iranian security forces detained him on the Kyrgyz airliner.
Foreign media outlets have been trying to put into question Iran’s success in arresting Rigi.
However, shortly after the arrest, Akipress reported that two Iranian jet fighters intercepted the Kyrgyz airliner on February 23 and forced it to land in Iran at Bandar Abbas Airport, where Rigi was arrested.
