Kyrgyz ambassador summoned to Foreign Ministry

Tehran, March 2, IRNA – The Kyrgyz ambassador to Tehran has been summoned to the Foreign Ministry.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mihman-Parast said based on solid documents proving the presence and identity check of terrorist Abdolmalek Rigi on a Kyrgyz flight, who was later arrested, the Kyrgyz ambassador was summoned to the Foreign Ministry to hear Iran’s concerns on use of territories of regional countries against the interests and security of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He said the ambassador was summoned by the Foreign Ministry's deputy for Middle East and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

According to the spokesman, during the meeting the Foreign Ministry's deputy reminded the ambassador of the United Nations documents and resolutions as well as other international documents on fighting terrorism.

Mihman-Parast also said the Foreign Ministry official has also noted that anti-terrorism conventions banned providing facilities and training camps to terrorist groups, stressing that the regional countries were expected not to follow policies contradictory to international laws.

The spokesman said the Kyrgyz ambassador condemned the terrorist actions of Abdolmalek Rigi in Iran and said he will inform his government of Iran’s concerns./end
