Police investigate incident near Bangkok Bank branch

BANGKOK, Mar 2 (TNA) -- Police are investigating an early morning incident at an office building on Bangkok's Rama IV Road housing TV Channel 3 television station and a Bangkok Bank branch.

Cracked glass at the Maleenont Building was on the ground floor metres away from a small branch of Bangkok Bank. Police initially found two small holes at the glass but found no bullet or evidence regarding a suspect.

Witnesses, including on-duty police and security personnel, said the situation appeared normal when they heard the sound of breaking glass at around 4am.

A janitorial worker at the office tower said the glass had been reported broken once in the past with unknown cause.

Police's Forensic Science investigators are inspecting the scene seeking evidence.

Four branches of Bangkok Bank were targetted in bombings late Saturday.

No casualties were reported in the earlier incidents; two grenades, one was defused, and one was a dud.

A Thai court has issued an arrest warrant for a man suspected to have thrown the grenade at Bangkok Bank’s Silom Road branch. (TNA)
