Rudd superficial, Abbott narrow: poll

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd may be talking down his government but a poll has found
he's more popular than Opposition Leader Tony Abbott.
The poll of 1000 people by Essential Research found Mr Rudd is seen as more capable
as a leader, and good in a crisis.
Mr Abbott is seen as narrow-minded and inflexible, and less honest.
The prime minister's weak spots were that he was superficial and complacent.
Mr Rudd may be beating Mr Abbott in the popularity stakes but he's less popular now
than he was earlier in his leadership.
The poll, taken late in February, found he is seen as less capable, less visionary
and more complacent, compared with earlier polls.
Mr Rudd on the weekend issued a public mea culpa and said his government had to lift
its game.
